How to set up a new Google Ads account

Please follow this step by step guide to set up your Google Ads account smoothly. Step 1: Create a Google Account To create a Google Ads account, a regular Google account is required. If you have a Gmail account, it indicates that you already have a Google account, allowing you to proceed to the next step. If you do not have a Gmail address or if it is a personal email address, it is recommended to create a separate account for your business. To create a Google account, visit accounts.google.com and click on create account, and then go to the manage my business option. When creating the account, you have the option to create it under any email or you can create a new gmail address if you prefer. Step 2: Create the Ads account Sign up for Google Ads by ensuring that you are logged in to your newly created Google account and visit ads.google.com. After selecting your account, you will be guided through the initial steps of setting up a new campaign. If you’re not quite ready to go live, you can set up a simple campaign and pause it. From there you can share access to your new account if needed. Step 3: Share access to the new account
  • Sign in to your Google Ads account.
  • Please click on the Tools icon in Google Ads (the one that looks like a wrench). Click on “Access and security” under the “Setup” section.
  • Please navigate to the manager tab. Navigate and select the “Link request” option, where you will find a list of manager accounts that have sent a request link with your account.
  • Go to “Actions” and click “Accept.”
Note: You will need to share the account ID number with any new manager. Your customer ID is used to identify your Google Ads account. Click the help icon in the top right-hand corner. Find “Customer ID” at the bottom of the menu.
